Customer Feedback Ideas for Local Businesses
By Qrenzo · 5 min read ·
Feedback tells you what to fix and what to keep doing. The best methods are quick, polite and easy to ignore if the customer is busy.
Ask in person
A simple “How was everything today?” at the end of a visit gives you honest answers you can act on right away. Train staff to listen and thank people, not to defend.
Use a QR code at the point of sale
Place a flyer at the counter or on the table. A single scan can open your Google review form or a feedback page on your website.
Printed cards and receipts
- Add a short invitation and QR code to receipts, bags or packaging.
- Keep the wording neutral. Ask for honest feedback, not a particular rating.
Follow up after the visit
For appointment-based businesses, a short message the next day asking how things went can reveal issues and invite a review.
Stay within Google’s rules
Act on what you hear
Collecting feedback only helps if you use it. Review comments weekly, fix the quick wins and tell staff what you changed.
Keep the process short
Every extra question loses people. One question and one free-text box is usually enough. If you use a survey, tell people how long it takes, and make sure it works on a phone.
Close the loop
When someone raises a problem, reply and fix it, then tell them what changed. Customers who see action are far more likely to give feedback again, and often become your most loyal ones.
