Google Business Instant Verification: How It Works
By Qrenzo · 5 min read ·
Instant verification is the fastest way to verify a Google Business Profile, which many people still call GMB or Google My Business. Instead of waiting for a postcard or a code, the profile is verified straight away. It is not offered to every business, so here is how it works and what to try.
What instant verification is
Google can sometimes confirm you manage a business without sending a code. This is often linked to a website you have already verified with Google, for example in Google Search Console. When Google already trusts that you control the website, it may let you verify the profile immediately.
Who may be offered it
- Businesses that have verified their website with Google Search Console.
- People signed in with the same Google account that verified the website.
- Businesses whose details match the website closely.
Google decides who is eligible, and it does not publish a guarantee, so treat it as a possibility rather than something you can count on.
How to try it
- Sign in to the Google account that manages your website in Search Console.
- Open or create your Business Profile with that same account.
- Choose the option to verify your business.
- If instant verification is available, it appears as one of the choices. Confirm it.
If it is not offered
- Check that you are using the same Google account for both.
- Check that your website is verified and that your business name and website match.
- Use another method instead. See Google Business verification methods explained.
After you are verified
Complete every section of your profile, then start collecting honest reviews with a Google review QR code. For the full process, read how to verify your Google Business Profile.
