How to Print a QR Code Flyer at Home or a Shop
By Qrenzo · 5 min read ·
You can print a QR flyer on a regular office printer. The PDF from Qrenzo is a vector US Letter file, so it stays sharp, but a few settings make a real difference.
Home printing settings
- Open the PDF in a PDF viewer, not a browser preview.
- Choose Actual size or 100%. Do not select Fit to page or Shrink to fit.
- Select Letter paper size, or pick the closest A4 option and check the code is not shrunk.
- Use normal or high quality, and turn off ink-saver or draft mode.
Choose the right paper
- Plain white matte paper is fine for most flyers.
- Heavier paper feels more professional and resists curling.
- Avoid glossy paper that reflects light and can make the code harder to scan.
Printing at a print shop
Send the PDF as is and ask for 100% scale with no cropping. Request a single proof first, and check it before approving a larger run. If you choose lamination, pick matte.
Check the result
- Measure the QR panel with a ruler. It should match what you expect.
- Scan it with two phones in normal room lighting.
- Look for banding or faded ink and re-print if the dots are not crisp.
Follow the full pre-print test checklist and the flyer design tips before you display your flyer.
Troubleshooting print problems
- Blurry or streaky dots: clean the print heads or switch to a higher quality setting.
- Code looks smaller than expected: the print dialog is probably set to Fit to page.
- Faded ink: replace the cartridge or toner, because weak ink lowers contrast.
- Paper curls or marks: use heavier paper and let the ink dry before handling.
When the printout looks right, run through the test checklist one more time, then display it.
