How to Make a WhatsApp Group QR Code

A WhatsApp group QR code lets people join your group by scanning it with their phone camera. It is useful for communities, classes, clubs, events and customer updates. You make it from the group’s invite link.

Step 1: Get your group invite link

  1. Open the group in WhatsApp and tap the group name to open Group info.
  2. Choose Invite to group via link.
  3. Choose Copy link. It looks like https://chat.whatsapp.com/ followed by a code.

You need to be a group admin to see this option, and WhatsApp menus can change slightly between versions and devices.

Step 2: Make the QR code

  1. Open the WhatsApp QR code generator.
  2. Under “What should the QR code do?” choose Join my WhatsApp group.
  3. Paste your invite link.
  4. Add your name and logo if you like, pick a design and download the flyer.

Step 3: Print or share it

Print the flyer at 100% size on matte paper, or share the PNG or JPG online. Put a short line next to the code, such as “Scan to join our group”, so people know what it does.
